Monsterbalap - Previous Monsterbalap has given news that Van der Mark will replace Valentino Rossi at Aragon, and now the issue has found a bright spot, Yep the news is true. Yamaha manager Lin Jarvis has officially announced Michael Van der mark will drive a Yamaha YZR-M1 on the grand prix of Aragon.
Van der Mark will replace Valentino Rossi in Aragon's MotoGP because Valentino is still undergoing a healing stage. Valentino Rossi broke the legs of Tibia and Fibula on 31 August and the healing process will take 40 days, while Aragon race is only 22 days so it is certain Rossi is not present for the Aragon race. On a contract basis Yamaha must use two racers in the grand prix Aragon.
"Following Valentino's crash on Thursday, August 31, Yamaha decided not to replace him at the San Marino Grand Prix, but for the next Grand Prix in Aragón, the team must include two drivers," said Yamaha Racing management director Lin Jarvis.
This is the first time Michael replaces the other drivers in MotoGP, because usually Yamaha more often use the service Nakasuga and Alex Lowes. Surely this is a rare opportunity for him, so he must give his best.
"After Yamaha used Katsuyuki Nakasuga to replace Jorge Lorenzo in 2011 and Alex Lowes to replace Bradley Smith in 2016, but this time we decided that Michael van der Mark should have a chance this time. Not easy to enter and replace other riders, let alone replace a Valentino Rossi, but we believe that Michael has all the credentials and experience to do this job well. "
"We will give our best support and we hope Valentino will continue to recover quickly so we can come back together with him as soon as possible." Lin Jarvis concluded.
